Not a meet more of a discussion hence placing it in 'The Couch'.

Would anyone be interested in a Rolling Road event based at Bridgewater college? I went there myself a few years ago and have a friend that did Motor Sport there who can help me sort out a session.

I'll be going myself anyway but thought I'd see if anyone else would be interested.

I believe its £30 for a run but I'm going to confirm this.
Provisionally confirmed: £30 for 3 runs. Free print out of best run.

Anyone?

I can provisionally confirm its £30 for 3 runs which includes a print out of the best run.

Discount available if 15+ people so lets just say its £30 as described above.

Hmm, after my last experience of Bridgewater, I probably wouldn't do it again...

Unless you literally tell them to give you a wheels power figure, fair play to the guy for listening to me about the old throttle control, but all the runs were calculated at 5% transmission losses, so I had to recorrect everyones results as they made no sense whatsoever... Even 15% tranny losses is being nice for a 175k mile BE box that's had engine oil in for half it's life...

So either only take account of the actual wheels figure and do the correction yourself. Or do it like every country in the world and do wheel figures!!!!!!!! They're the ONLY figure that means anything... This countrys obsession with flywheel figures I do not understand - it's just because it's a bigger number!

Tbh all these dodgy back garage / college dyno days are fairly pointless / inaccurate, I know no dyno is accurate totally, but at least use ones that are proper / used professionally...whats the point in spending 30 quid if it dosnt mean anything!

Also, another thing about that dyno is they only turned the fans on about halfway through each run which meant the car had plenty of time to heat up before it got some nice cool air again..

Can't find anywhere cheaper then £10 a run (3x£10).

Start sticking your name down if you'd be interested pending date.

There's another one i bridgwater i believe by a company called TSR or TS Tuning.. can't remember the exact name, but they have a rolling road, they mainly tune VW stuff IIRC but expect it'd be much better than the college one
EDIT: Boom, found it.. says they also do discount for club days

Even if it works out slightly more expensive.. it'd be better to get a proper place to do it, over the college.. we had to wait ages last time for the lecturer to turn up too and we couldn't start till he was there
