Right, as some of you may have read in another thread the company who provided the GAZ Gold coilovers on my Roadster are able to do discounts on GAZ products.
Personally I am sourcing some rear adjustable shock absorbers from them in the very near future, so can advise on what cost these will be soon.

Someone mentioned that they may be interested in a set of GAZ GHA coilovers though, which he can also supply.

In a brief discussion on the phone this morning we decided there is little point in offering the GAZ Gold setup for the 306, as it simply isn't necessary - nobody needs that level of adjustment on a road / ocassional track-day car. GHA's will suffice and they are considerably cheaper too. That said, if anyone (Mad enough) is really interested in the Gold setup I can enquire on your behalf.

Who would be interested in a GHA Kit and what would you be prepared to pay for it? The company is interested in promoting a Group Buy if there is enough interest and could run the discount for a fixed 6-months if there is enough interest.

I will advise on costs as soon as I know.

Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

Cool OK. I see the same seller is doing just the adjustable rears for £98 + £8.50 postage.
If he can't beat those prices this is going to fall flat on its' face!

Had a nosey on the eBay auctions listed, Gaz will supply springs to customers specifications dependant on how the rear of the car is setup - standartd or otherwise.
It would be worth noting what spring poundage those sellers are offering. As they may not be best suited to each individuals setup.

When I ordered mine from Gaz direct I stated what TB/ARB setup I was going for, along with intended usage and they made a recommendation for springs based on that.

 Worth mentioning.

Definately interested. As long as its a decent saving over the eBay seller and I don't have to buy them for a month or so. Would be interested in the front and rear setup, not sure what springs yet would have to be advised by gaz. Would also be interested in a price for eccentric top mounts (if they do them).

Just typed 'gaz shocks rust' into google because I've heard that they do not offer very good protection from corrosion, and this was one of the first results..http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic...olds&mid=0
I know it was a long time ago, so they are most likely fine now.

How many people on the forum have them? I wouldn't mind hearing from someone who's had some on a 306 (preferably for a year or so). Basically just want to know if they still operate as they should, how much have they corroded and if the rear shocks are stiff enough, as I've heard they can be a bit soft. Obviously the stiffness of shocks is down to personal opinion but it'll give me a good idea.

Got my prices back yesterday, GHA kits are not actually coilovers it turns out, they're just height adjustable shocks. I can get 15% off £500, so about £425 before carriage costs.
Rear adjustable shocks only are £55 a piece but again 15% discount before carriage.

It's not the bargain of the century I was hoping for, but if anyone is seriously interested in a set of Golds for their car I can enquire further.

As for the corrosion thing, it is my understanding that they actually changed the shock body material to a lightweight one with greater corrosion protection, but then Golds are not intended for daily road use anyway...

I can't afford to splash out anything else on the car myself until the new year due to the house move anyway
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

I'm running mine at the moment, and the roads round mine are shite; loads of farm muck all over them etc. so a fairly good test-bed for their resistance! I'll report back at some point; I need to get the wheels off and have a poke about at the suspension at some point fairly soon anyway. I'll take some before & after cleaning photos, but expect the next time I'll be cleaning it will be just in time for the Christmas meet!!

The 'stiffness' of the rears is a bit of a misconception surely. They only alter the damp/rebound, rather than the spring rate of the rear of the car, which is done by the Torsion Bars. The shock will become firmer if you wind the damping adjustment right up, but ultimately the overall stiffness is still decided by the spring rate, which relates directly to the TB size...

Tbh cant see corrosion being a big issue considering the cheapy chinease hot tuning ones I had were on my car for 2 years, driving on farm roads, and still adjust with your fingers no issues...
Ive still not got round to have my gha's rebuilt, must sort that out as im yet to experience the "gaz experience" as one of mine is fooked!

That's the thing though, GAZ product support is very, very good.
MeisterR coilovers come close, but GAZ have more experience. As for which product is best, that's open for debate.

I will enquire after the Gold Coilover setups for people, and yes you can choose your own spring rate (I did when I got mine for the Mazda )
