Not awkward at all! The missus knows the bride, but her ex was here as well earlier, and completely blanked her. Thank god for smartphones to keep me a little bit sane!
What's the minimum amount of time you can spend at a wedding reception before leaving without appearing rude?

Hmmm....maybe. probably wouldn't be so bad if I could get drunk, but I've got to drive home.
And before anyone suggests a taxi, there is no way in hell I'm leaving my car parked where it is overnight.....let's just say its a bit of a rough area!

Not with the amount she's already put away, plus she's only a provisional driver, and I'm not great at letting her drive my car when we're both sober, let alone if I was "a bit squiffy".
