		18mm was on the GTi-6s so that instantly makes it better by a magnitude of 6.

only advantage i can see is the 18mm ones will be stronger, so therefore 'better', but if you're ever in the situation where you'd have benifitted from a stronger ball joint, id reckon that the rest of the car would be shagged anyway... i have both on mine, cuz im thats how i roll. 		Pug upgraded them on the 6 from 16mm to 18mm why i have no idea.  
	
	
	
  probly not worth the hastle of swaping them over for a extra 2mm

Anyway, the 18mm's give a bit more strength for the lard arsed later models, and wear a bit slower.
