Looks good, waiting for the tread that starts: "I have a problem with my 6." followed by "new engine time".
Looks good though, there is a black rallye on eBay for £950 first one on to be registered apparently.

Good call bud, you'll certainly enjoy it as they are great even in standard.
I'm sure you've got some interesting plans for it though so definitely keeping an eye on this but also very surprised you've bought a 6 as I thought you were DERV all the way!?!

So this threads been up for an hour, It might be time for an update.
The car needs a little TLC, the wishbones need replacing TBH most of the front suspension does as it was all advisory on the last MOT.

Suspension Plans are:
G-Max-60mm GTi lowereing kit (progressive springs and matched dampers).
Brand new peugeot top mounting hardwear (bolts cups mounts ETC)
Meyle HD Wishbones and drop links (probably TREs while im at it)

The brakes are also pretty woeful so I may slightly of totally skinted myself and bought some 406 coupe Brembos for £80, want to find if i can get some bigger discs rather than the Xantia 288mm ones. Will go braided lines and 5.1 fluid while im at it.

Ive already killed the top engine mount from too much hooning so grp N engine mounts will be fitted (yay)

Oh and Ive bought some Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s in a 16" x 7" flavour and theyer getting done gold as gold on white is lush.

So as it would be completely sad to put Rallye stickers on a GTi6 I made myself a special sticker

And as i wanted a Rallye but didnt want to live without electric windows Ive set about trying to loose the extra 50kg out the car. Before I started I had the car weighed and it came in at 1200kg without driver and 1300kg with, I then had one wheel weighed at a time. The weights are to the nearest 20kg and the front and side is total of 2 corners. It was weighed with a full tank of fuel etc and is 40kg lighter than std.

Ill do a full write up on what Im loosing and how much it weighs but Ive only done the back of the car and Im up to about 25kgs already.

Further plans are fitting my nitrous kit, a win pipe and some cams then maybe stripping the whole thing.

cheers for all the comments guys. Id always said if I owned another 306 it would be a 6 and it would be in an awesome colour.

It has been played with and then put back to standard, dosent appear to be too much bodging from what I can see. Definitely the ultimate 306 IMO, plans are above and the mileage is 120k

Any fuel is the right fuel if it goes fast. Its not the right fuel if your putting it in a 1.0 saxo

Spend the money you'll save not doing the wheels gold on decent front suspension pweeeeeeeeeees!!
On a serious note, I'm very interested in the corner weight info etc you've got there, and how you're gonna reduce that.

Where'd you get it corner-weighed?

And finally, f*ck me 100kg extra with driver? 1st step in rallye-ifying it; rallye-ify yourself!! I joke

Wondered how long it'd be before the word suspension came into play. How dare someone fit Gmax springs!?

Fit Gaz Golds with Compbrake eccentric top mounts. Only 100% of the 1 people I know with them on a gti6 have crashed, they're that good.

I know everyone is gonna whinge about the G-Max stuff but having had it on my HDi it was probably the favourite suspension Ive ever had on a 306, it felt really well damped and was really good quality.

Im not buying coilies cos Ill spend twice as much and just ruin the handling by winding it all the way down to the bump stops. Having fixed springs means i cant do that and i also get progressively wound springs too.

Ed Ill call you about the weight but im gonna try and pretty scientific about it and eventually move some bits about to try and get a better balance. I reckon without my weight its gotta be pretty close to 50/50 side to side and that i wasnt expecting.

Oh and yes Im 100kg. Remember its not the size of your nail, its the hammer you bang it in with that counts.

The wheel colour change is already paid for and im not fitting them if they dont look right so actually looks are a priority for me.

I kinda feel uncomfortable using the term "corner weighting" as TBH what I did was a bit farmer spec and it shows.

My local tip has a weighbridge set into the ground and it is surrounded by flat level tarmac. After I had the whole car weighed I drove 1 wheel on at a time and had them weighed individually. It is to the nearest 20kg and this shows. The whole car was 1300kg with me in but the 4 corners add up to 1340kg. The thing about the weighbridge is theyve just had it re done and so itll be there for many years and so as a test it is totally repeatable. Also the Shell down the road where i filled the car with fuel will always be the same distance away so the fuel weight and that should be the same every time.

Its good enough for what Im doing and if you understand that its not perfect and that any weight could be 20kg either way and accept that then its an interesting tool and may give people here an understanding without paying a special rally company £££ to do it for you to the nearest micro gram.

I would love to see someone else do the same as me and Id also love to get the car properly corner weighted to see how far out all of this really is.

Chris the weigh bridge up in Wycombe has 4 individual pads you drive the car on! Might pop up and ask em what the deal is tomorow after work

You have made a mistake with reducing the corner weight by buying Brembo's they are pretty heavy calipers, and the discs you will have to use will make it even worse.
They are some interesting things on the 6 forum about corner weight.

Lighter wheels is a good start though.
