when i fitted the ATB i fitted it back as i took it off
the gearbox came from a low mileage car and was fitted when i fitted the rebuilt engine, Ive never had it apart
but who knows previous history
the strange thing was, when i fitted the rebuilt diff the second time the car drove spot on no pull or anything
the following day the pull was back but in the opposite direction
i put that down to bearing movement so went investigating
went to peugeot who printed me of a load of info
but even they said put back like for like
what i found was the N/S shaft puts a lot of load into the diff this would force the O/S diff bearing outer race outward tight against the speedo Nose
i also found the nose to be 9.6mm not 10mm this would add 0.4mm extra bearing play/diff movement
i need to look at that 9.6 nose again to see the finish as i suspect the bearing may have spun and eroded the speedo case giving the issue in the first place
