Bypassing the fuel heater isn't the end of the world, shouldn't cause a problem. Fairly sure it's one of those features that's put there for the 5% minority - ie those driving in temperatures where there's actually a chance of the diesel gelling.
Fuel temperature sensor is indeed important, probably be easiest to just swap the rail as you say. |
