evening!

I've just replaced the engine in my hdi with another hdi unit but from a non 306! I believe it's been in a 306 though which perhaps confuses matters more.

Firstly the fuel pipes have been chopped about and now don't go through the thermostat housing/fuel heater, will this cause a problem?

Secondly, the return pipes on the engine won't fit into the cars return pipe so I've swapped all the pipes for the 306 ones. Problem is the fuel temp sensor is in the pipe work I've removed rather than in the rail like the 306!
I'm guessing the fuel temp sensor is important and the most sensible soloution is to swap fuel rails?

Any help much appreciated, Al
Bypassing the fuel heater isn't the end of the world, shouldn't cause a problem. Fairly sure it's one of those features that's put there for the 5% minority - ie those driving in temperatures where there's actually a chance of the diesel gelling.

Fuel temperature sensor is indeed important, probably be easiest to just swap the rail as you say.
