No. At most, flush it with a hose. Don't use any of these flush mixes. Chances are that matrix is pretty rotten and being stopped from springing a leak in a few places by build up. Best bet is to leave it there!
And this is why things like rad weld and (for you) HG weld are SOOOO bad. They just sludge everything up and don't really do the job they are designed to do.
