You do all know how they calculate MPG figures for new cars right?
Based on the emmisions test. (C02 emmitted)
So first they drive the car on a level test track and record rolling resistances and aero resistances.
This is then fed into the indoor rolling road computer.
Then on a indoor testing rolling road the car is 'driven' at different speeds etc whilst reading the exhaust emmisions by which the mpg is calculated.
The hardest acceleration phase is 0-44mph in roughly 41seconds.
Hmmm, sounds like a fair test!!
