Differences between phases

There's a guide over on 306gti6.com that lists a lot of the mechanical and electrical differences between phase 2 and 3 as well which are quite profound in certain instances. It's in the faq portion of their forum.

Phase 3 is arguably the most competent; but this will mainly be because it's the newest. The very last ones are 10 year younger than the oldest ones and came with the more modern Hdi engines. But In my opinion phase 1s look the best now, they've definitely moved into that "retro" category.
