So been a while since I've updated this. I fitted the smaller charger pulley and you can certainly tell this charger is healthier than the old one as it pulls a hell of a lot better than the old charger. Air temps are also lower. Even after a hoon i was seeing mid 30s where as on the old one, i was getting near to 50!
Got a bearing kit here to do on the charger when i can pop over to Dans to use his press so then i know the charger will be good to go for the lifetime of the car unless it ingests an ocelot or something like that.
PFC End of season expo was the weekend just gone so up early on the Saturday to drive up (via getting my MOT done), sitting at a steady 75 on the M25 and suddenly got some nasty hunting then suddenly sod all power. Had to drop down to 4th just to maintain speed. Over to the hard shoulder and i was sure it was a loose HT lead. Checked the connections to the coil pack and fine but no tools to take the top cover off the engine to check the connections to the plugs so spent an hour waiting for the RAC

An hour later and he arrives and sods law, the car starts fine! He tightens up all the plugs, secures the coil pack and on we go, meet Sam, miss my MOT and continue on up to Derby absolutely fine. Hit the bar to bump into Kingy from here. Turns out it was his local.
Anyway, Show on sunday, decide to leave at about 2 for a steady drive home with Sam exploding our ear drums with his ridiculous popping exhaust
. And then, 5 miles before the M1/M25 junction......

Yep, coil pack again. This time, it gives up on a hill and on a junction so had to cut up 3 lanes of traffic to get over to the hard shoulder then smash the brakes on before i get to the end of the hard shoulder lol. This time its obvious its the coil pack its self as the car would run on 4, then suddenly 2 then 4 then 2 lol. HA Stopped to have a word with us and i was hoping they would tow us off the motorway as its not really a pleasant place to stand but they just buggered off

3 Hours later and we are home. Fair play to them the RAC were spot on and couldnt of been more helpful. The guy who came out had a Astra turbo running Megasquirt so knew a bit about modified cars as well which was good.
So, this was a perfect excuse to change the coil pack and HT lead set up to a coil on plug set up. Lot neater and less to go wrong lol. Ordered a coil pack which turned up today, whipped all the old shit off and got the new one in. Just need to grind off a few of the tabs for the original coils so it fits properly and she will live once again!
