Don't get so worked up, there's no indication of the condition of the car that was scrapped.
All the dealer required was a shell and V5.
Some jeb-ends did scrap perfectly good cars tho, there was a Golf Mk1 Clipper in a yard near me that had been scrapped - it was totally mint.
The cars had a damn good picking over tho, you were allowed to take anything except the shell - and all the scrappies knew when they get a good motor in because they'd strip it bare for parts.
