There's 2 issues on not running diesel and running veg or other fuels. Lubrication and viscosity. Adding additives will probably start seeing nowhere near enough of a saving to make it worth the time. I'd just use red if it's staying off road or bite the bullet and use white diesel. All in all hdi engines are picky b***ards and running anything but will be nothing but trouble. Even running cheap nasty morrisons diesel (think it's partly bio and shit additives) causes trouble. I don't see an alternative mate common rail/high pressure diesels are designed to run at parameters of standard diesel and weren't made with any kind of leeway. I've even heard someone say they had trouble using red in an hdi I don't see why that would happen but in the end they rely on the user/driver to input the expected fuel to run. Anything else it's just plain not designed for. Pickup some mot failure xud if you want to run on veg off-road is the best solution or use diesel on the hdi.
