They're awful for economy, but as Curt quite rightly says, if you are watching MPG's you have the wrong car
How do you get such bad mpg from a 1.8? I never got below 400 miles to a tank in my previous 1.8! Worked out about 35mpg average.
Gonna top this one up tomorrow and see what its doing...will report back lol.

Ive had more than 40mpg out of both my 6 and 1.8 on a regular basis on motorway trips but start giving it some beans and it rapidly drops!
