As for the slight grind. New gearbox oil works wonders for the feel of it and noises

Never thought about changing the oil im going to give it a full service anyway thanks lad!

Really does make a change to the feel of it if it hasn,t been changed for a while, if it still crunches afterwards it will be either gear box or clutch, and if its hard to get into gear then will probably be the gear linkages.
