A small leak can be exponential to performance, thats how turbo's work 
If you loose 5psi of IMP, you'll loose more than 5+ psi of EMP, causing a huuuuge knock on effect with your performance, it will just tail off. This is where VNT's excel with their manifold pressure management too.
