post of your old car's thread!
#15
You do know that a 350Z is out-handled by a 5-door 1.9DT 306 right? Especially on the Isle of Wight, where the 306 dominates.

My first car was a Nova, but that was shit. Used for my first year of driving and when I got my NCB up to 1 I bought myself a 1.8 XS and set about modifying it over the following 18 months...

Second car was a 2.0 GTi6, bought as a CAT D for £2k (bargain at the time...)

In the above photograph the engine had blown up. This was after driving it back from CG cars in Leicester, having only just bought it. Several heated phonecalls ensued, I wanted it fixed, he claimed 'sold as seen' but was happy to quote me for a bottom end rebuild Itwasntme

Threats of trading standards later, it got repaired FOC (as it should have been) and I set about crashing it just 5 months later -

Ooops.

I then bought a run-around VW Polo. Problem was, it wouldn't run. So it didn't get around. Bugger.

Later bought a 306 Cabriolet, it had been well looked-after but some of the mods were a bit, ahem, chav-esque? Bought for £2,750 at the time.

Fixed-

Came with GTi6 manifold conversions, cams and stainless exhaust. I kept the exhaust and cams, but returned the rest of it to standard.

(eagle eyes will spot the later 1.8 16v exhaust emission control setup, f*cking stupid thing it was, not seen many other cars with it...)

Flogged that and bought an MX5 as it was quicker and sportier. Probably not much faster in a straight line, but it felt it. Spent a fortune on it, regret ever selling it.

Decided I needed some kind of coupe for the winter months, so got a Celica 190 -

To be fair I really liked it, so reliable. But the power delivery was tiresome and the gearbox and brakes were absolutely shocking.

Flogged it as I was spending £300+ a month on fuel and had a baby on the way. Made my biggest mistake shortly after. I bought a Ford Itwasntme

Chuffing hated it. Bought it for £3,500 (bloody expensive as top-spec) and sold for a few hundred quid less just 3 months later, as I hated it so much.

Which is where we are today, 2.0 HDi DTurbo.

Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.
