Only been driving for two years, so feel at a bit of a disadvantage, but here you go:

First car was a renault scenic, no pictures unfortunately (thankfully?) - ragged it, jumped a ditch in it, moved on rapidly.

You do know that a 350Z is out-handled by a 5-door 1.9DT 306 right? Especially on the Isle of Wight, where the 306 dominates.

My first car was a Nova, but that was shit. Used for my first year of driving and when I got my NCB up to 1 I bought myself a 1.8 XS and set about modifying it over the following 18 months...

Second car was a 2.0 GTi6, bought as a CAT D for £2k (bargain at the time...)

In the above photograph the engine had blown up. This was after driving it back from CG cars in Leicester, having only just bought it. Several heated phonecalls ensued, I wanted it fixed, he claimed 'sold as seen' but was happy to quote me for a bottom end rebuild Itwasntme

Threats of trading standards later, it got repaired FOC (as it should have been) and I set about crashing it just 5 months later -

Ooops.

I then bought a run-around VW Polo. Problem was, it wouldn't run. So it didn't get around. Bugger.

Later bought a 306 Cabriolet, it had been well looked-after but some of the mods were a bit, ahem, chav-esque? Bought for £2,750 at the time.

Fixed-

Came with GTi6 manifold conversions, cams and stainless exhaust. I kept the exhaust and cams, but returned the rest of it to standard.

(eagle eyes will spot the later 1.8 16v exhaust emission control setup, f*cking stupid thing it was, not seen many other cars with it...)

Flogged that and bought an MX5 as it was quicker and sportier. Probably not much faster in a straight line, but it felt it. Spent a fortune on it, regret ever selling it.

Decided I needed some kind of coupe for the winter months, so got a Celica 190 -

To be fair I really liked it, so reliable. But the power delivery was tiresome and the gearbox and brakes were absolutely shocking.

Flogged it as I was spending £300+ a month on fuel and had a baby on the way. Made my biggest mistake shortly after. I bought a Ford Itwasntme

Chuffing hated it. Bought it for £3,500 (bloody expensive as top-spec) and sold for a few hundred quid less just 3 months later, as I hated it so much.

Which is where we are today, 2.0 HDi DTurbo.

building a 350 z nismo...what you got to do to build that ?

must say there is some stunning looking motors here men.what are those wheels on your mx5 fozzy ? like the way they stick out makes it look beefy.
First car was a Rover 214 SEi that I had at 7 years old. I put it into a bush and wrote it off after discovering the rock in the bush. Fail.

Replacement was a near identical Rover 214 SEi but in much rustier condition, somewhat neglected in former years I suspect. Drove that for a year til I bought.. No pics of either on the PC.

My Rover 220 GSi Turbo.
Modified just about everything on it. Rebuilt the box with steel caged bearings, forged the engine, fitted a front mount IC, GT28R, custom made 325mm Brembo setup, 2.5" turbo back stainless exhaust, fully polybushed (all 26 of them), 3 strut braces, koni adjustables etc. Adored this car, it was absolutely bulletproof despite its reputation. I had it for 7 years until I foolishly bought an uprated clutch for my forged engine build from a reputable seller on Rover tech, which turned out to be nothing but hassle. Clutch Let go twice, both on track days, rendering the car undriveable. Passion for it was fast waning so I stripped it for parts. I had bought the HDi 2 years after getting the Rover, here she is, 7 years later and on 239,500 miles at the moment.

During stripping the Rover in late 2010 I bought this:

My TVR Cerbera 4.5 V8 in Rolex Blue Pearl. Absolute animal of a car, ferocious noise and unbelievable pull from the throttle. Having bought it though I felt a hole, as I had nothing to tinker with any more and the HDi was mint by this point, despite the mileage.

To fill that hole I bought this French toy, and have ploughed some wedge into it to modify it to my liking.

To this:

Thats it from me.
C2K, whilst you're away in SA it is very important that someone kindly cranks the engine over in both your Cerbera and Rallye. You know, maybe even take them around the block a couple of times, just to keep the batteries charged and fluids in good condition.

That person should definitely be me, as I am very trustworthy (can provide a reference from my mum if req'd)
Yes, there's evidence of this in your photos Chris lol
