I remember something similar to this that a guy I went to college tried, I'll try explain it simply from memory...
Basically, it has to do with common law and statute law. Common law is the law of the land, and EVERYONE has to obey that, fact. It's part of our constitution (magna carta), but it's very basic and basically says that you can not harm another person in actions, words or dealings, and that you must conduct yourself in an honest and truthful way. But statute law is law formed by the government and monarchy, which apparently only applies if we accept it and are a subject of this country.
Apparently, the trick is, you have to send an affidavit signed in front of a solicitor or judge to the queen, giving her 40 days to solve the problems within parliament (you can give pretty much anything for this, ie corruption, for example the MP expenses scandal) or dissolve it. There's an article in the magna carta that allows you to do this. If she doesn't respond, solve the problems or dissolve parliament, you can send another affidavit asserting that you are now in a state of "lawful rebellion" until she acts upon your accusations, and are no longer a subject of the crown or government. My mate did this and apparently this meant that he was only under the jurisdiction of common law, and statute law (road traffic act for example, that covers almost every legal requirement of driving such as MOT, insurance, license) did not apply to him.
Funny enough, we used to egg him on to cancel his insurance and he never would...
