XUD's don't need cats as they were made before they were compulsory. Also XUD's need only pass a smoke test at the MOT.

Mines a 97/98 r reg does it not have a cat then 1.9 non turbo

Whats the point of a decat on a N/A? not like its built for power
13-11-2012, 08:41 PM
Just thinking saves the cost of a cat a de cat pipe gotta be cheaper than a cat
just ask the motor factors for a down pipe for a 94 straight diesel, i dont see why a TD pipe wont fit tho
13-11-2012, 08:51 PM
Will that just bolt up to my exhaust then and does mine have a cat or not ?
13-11-2012, 08:56 PM
it will bolt straight on but get a new fitting kit and clamp. only way to know if yours has got a cat is to look under it

Ill do that tommorow I thought that any car manufactured after a certain year had to have one 1992 stands out for some reason
13-11-2012, 09:08 PM
well a 94 TD dose not have one as standard, and diesel cars have not got cat's there particle filters.
13-11-2012, 09:24 PM
Oh right my bad I don't know much about diesels this will become more and more evident the longer I'm on here

13-11-2012, 09:29 PM
Yea, but i still think the flange will fit, just the pipe may be slightly larger
13-11-2012, 09:32 PM
I was thinking more the length of the downpipe part of the cat, like a gti6 won't fit an xsi as the mani is different.
13-11-2012, 10:15 PM
I think they are about the same length, on the TD there is the turbo but on the N/A there is the honey come manifold thing
13-11-2012, 11:25 PM
Whilst diesels are only tested on particulates, most made in the last 15 years do have cats, and as of January 2012 any car fitted with a cat from the factory must have one present at the time of MOT. However I'm not convinced they can reliably tell, and it's not too difficult to find a sympathetic mechanic

My mot tester is to be the best man at my wedding known him 23 years lol

NAD have different diameter pipe. I had a straight through mid pipe from one once thinking it was for a DT, wouldn't fit with my DT de-cat.

So does anyone know to a de cat/ particle filter for a NA diesel estate

NAD's also have a different shape downpipe. You CAN get decats pipes though. Been there done that ... Makes a difference too with a bit of extra fuelling.

Where would I get a de cat is it best to just try and get one made and how would I alter the fueling

Follow the turbio diesel tuning guides, obviously you wont have a boost compensator or boost though.
Just phone round your local motor factors and ask for a downpipe for a '93 306 1.9D without cat. |
