If love a GTE tbh Pete, this ones a 5 door which didn't appeal at first but couldn't refuse it.
Going to machine polish & back to black everything, I'll decide what to do with it then.

If you're going to mod it it'll need to be mental to make up for being a mk3 astra. Do it. Big Grin

High Five for owning a H plate! Chris1357 also what pete was meaning was that you don't see many of the mk3 astras about now at all.
If I were you with this chris is make sure its got a disklok on it and a battery cut off switch ( see my thread on what I use) as this were well known in the 90s of been nicked! you could either restore it or build a GTE replica.
But its the parts you got to think of sadly, Don't use it as daily mind ( too good to use as that now!)
got to say I think the last of the mk2s went about 10 years ago now sadly and that was the astra gte! ( my mum had one 20 years ago too)

Got a Disclock Procta but it's on the 106, the Mk2 is behind locked gates in an inlaws garden ATM..
I was thinking GTE replica but it's a Moor-Door... Sad
Parts wise there's a few breaking if I need owt
Wanted something more old school Than the 106 as it still seems to new looking for my liking but I'll run all 3 the 207 106 Mk2

get one for this too, just for an extra bit of security. Doesn't matter about the more door, you get escorts mk2s that get the mexico treatment that are more doors.

80 pounds for transport until October is amazing value!
If you did back to black it and polish it etc. and get a fresh MOT on it when you were done you could probably sell it for much more on carandclassics as a "classic car".
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

That's peanuts that! I don't even think my mate can even insure his proper mini for that!

My mum had a mk2 astra, pile of shit. Only time it ever started was when it got nicked. Was a blue horrible thing, bad memories that thing caused. Now a mk1 astra is a thing of beauty and I want one so bad.

How about this for a pretty common car you don't see too often, 1275GT

I think the mini clubmans were the favourite for vtech, Vauxhall and k series engine conversions, with them having the bigger fronts.

Indeed peanuts, it only cost £88 to insure my 106 FC too.

That's because Ford did actually make a 4 door rs2000/mexico in the mk2 (it was only available in Australia mind) but they do exist. A few of them found their way over here.

one of the lads on the metro owners forum is toying with the idea, buying one of these as a daily.
now when was the last time you saw one of these! Seat Ibiza mk1 [Image: _571%202_zps1fvgfz5f.jpg]

My mum had one of those Seats, not my cup of T, just take a look at the rear suspension setup, it's just lolz!

As for Mk2 Astras I can tell you that GTE Rainbow Recaros make excellent computer chairs. No more aching back for me :-)

if I had my old computer chair, id have done the same with my old metros interior.
saw a old saab 900 today, on a R plate. For some reason, old saabs seemed to have practically vanished from up here.

BMW E34's are very rare to see these days, saw one today pull up outside next door (tyre / exhaust centre) and the owner clearly looked after it (it was damn fine).

Procta. I bought the base with a chair I disposed of at a local auction. An hour with a grinder, welder and some scrap metal job done. Cost me £1.12p

I put a complete Calibra floor-pan in this a couple of years back. My mate sent me some more up to date photos the other day. The body-kit that's on it that the arches are off were rare back in the day!

It'll be a proper classic whenever it sees the road again lol. It's an old D plate iirc?
