The paint detox shampoo is great for loosening up road tar etc and stage 3, the scratch remover, is what I used in those pics, about £8 for the bottle at halfords.
Bear in mind this paint's a direct gloss, not a base/clear, so it cuts really easily. Not sure how it would be on a clear coat as they're usually harder than single stage.

care to shair the link for all the products you used?

Phew, spent a good 6 hours tidying up the paintwork yesterday and it's looking a lot better. Also cleaned under the bonnet and removed the liner, and painted more of the engine bay.
Also got a little side project on the go for FCS. Stanceboard? Yeah that's a given. But a stanced kids ride-on electric car? You know you want it

Here's some pics from yesterday, still uploading today's pics. Nothing special apart from exactly how far i'm going in the paint restoration process. No stone left unturned, no trim left unremoved!
Doors and under seals, old on the left clean on the right. Also removed the wingmirrors and got behind them
 ![[Image: IMG_0251.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/IMG_0251.jpg)
Rear lights removed, before and after
 ![[Image: IMG_0253.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/IMG_0253.jpg) ![[Image: IMG_0256.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/IMG_0256.jpg) ![[Image: IMG_0254.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/IMG_0254.jpg)
Boot cleaning in progress, you can see the yellowy tint on the left and the clean whiteness on the right
 ![[Image: IMG_0252.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/IMG_0252.jpg)
And the crap accumulated in the petrol cap
 ![[Image: IMG_0257.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/IMG_0257.jpg)
I have better pics of the engine bay on the way too when I can find the lead for my camera <3

Yay here's the rest of the pics!
Car's looking nice and clean now, I have a good idea of what needs painted. The roof has come up ok, as have most of the panels. The main part of the boot lid needs painted but not urgently, just a couple of chips. Rear bumper needs painted, as do the side skirts, handles and mirror caps. Apart from that though it's all good!

Some quick snaps for you
 ![[Image: DSCF1571.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1571.jpg) ![[Image: DSCF1572.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1572.jpg) ![[Image: DSCF1573.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1573.jpg) ![[Image: DSCF1574.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1574.jpg) ![[Image: DSCF1575.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1575.jpg) ![[Image: DSCF1576.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1576.jpg) ![[Image: DSCF1577.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1577.jpg)
Oh and here's a sneaky pic of the front suspension now it's built. Even though you all know what cheap coilovers and new joints look like. Ho hum.
 ![[Image: DSCF1579.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1579.jpg) 4

And brake clearance with 283mm GTI6 brakes. Loads of room!
 ![[Image: DSCF1581.jpg]](http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m481/martypellowe/DSCF1581.jpg)
PS yes the calipers need painted. They're getting rebuilt next week so will do it then. Shut up.

If I'm honest Chris...I didn't think it would look this good!
What will you be doing about the small bits of paintwork that need seeing to? Doing it yourself or a bodyshop job?

The candy red trimming on the interior looks lush btw!

Ahh Mr Leckie! Long time no see, oh ye of little faith
Paintwork will be seen to in due course. Already sprayed the front bumper and after polishing up the wings and grille the paint match is ok, so i'll be doing the rear bumper when I get paid next week, along with the ph3 side strips and wing mirror caps.
