Accidentally OD'd on paracetamol - Halp

Srs - Just took 1x500mg paracetamol tablet for my ringing ear ache and then drunk most of a cup of lempsip for my shitty head cold, which has 1000mg of paracetamol in it.

Will I be okay?

You'll be fine, recommended max. doses are there to prevent dickheads from going close to the limit where they may do damage to themselves. In hospital you'll regularly find the limit on the back of your regular packet is doubled or tripled anyway!!

I actually know because one of my old-friends nearly died when she OD'd. Hospital and emergency transplant later... shes still here

You can OD on paracetamol but you need a fair old amount.

The reason you can only buy 2 boxes of 16x 500mg tablets is to stop suicidal people going to the pharmacy and being able to buy enough to kill themselves. So if 32 x 500mg (about 10 times what you took) is unlikely to kill you id say youll be fine.

Recommended safe doses are usually about half of what is actually safe. If you think about it theyer for anyone from puberty upwards so if 1000mg is safe for a tiny 6 stone 15 year old bird id say that me being almost 3 times that size could pretty safely have 3 times that dosage although im yet to try more than double.

i have never seen the point in that as if you wanted to kill yourself that way you just need to go around all the shops and buy 2 boxes then you would have more than enough to kill yourself but

Thing with doing that with Paracetamol is that you're more likely to suceed in making yourself horribly ill, vomiting everywhere rather than actually killing yourself... There's much better ways of killing yourself with paracetamol...
