After a sub for my car. Not a fan of massive bass and I don't want a huge box in the boot. I'm going to build a box into one side for it to go into.
No more than £60 to spend and don't want it any bigger than 12".
Cheers!

I've been turned down for a mortgage though
*awaits trolling from ed*
He only wants to sell sub and amp together for £100. Not for me!

Hmm not bad. Not a huge fan of jbl anymore but sure a sub will sound fine. Might check eBay for second hand hertz/focal/rainbow ect

Was going to ask you what one you had Ginge? I never actually heard it when it was boxed in but being JL it probably sounds great!

Don't knock vibe, love my cbr active 10, 1300w, gives me everything I need in a sub. Like you, I'm not a fan of massive bass, mine takes the hard work away from the components, but doesn't overpower them. And it was free.

Rainbow Hammer 10 or 12 inch dual voice coils and only need a very small enclosure often see them s/h on eBay for about £60-80 - the 10 only requires about 1 cu ft to function well

The entry level JL 12" is good for the money (they're about £60 I think), served me well before I upgraded. I'm all about SQ not big bass, get something JL or Rockford IMO

15" Black Sony Xplod 1300w, lethal but pricey, i had 2 12" JBL in past and were ace also, a decent monoblock amp helps with a good wiring kit for clarity and power cap can help with power

Same mate. Not a fan of big bass. Just SQ.
Tbh i over looked Rockford. Will see what's up on the bay!
Not buying Sony. Hate Sony with a passion. Everything I've ever had of theirs has fallen to pieces!

If you really are into SQ then the rainbow is really the best answer - you can determine whether you want SQ SPL or SQL by the size of the enclosure and whether or not you port it - copy and paste this into your addy bar

Too big for my liking.
Andy, I am after a rainbow but finding a second hand one at a decent price is an issue
Yes I'm picky with audio.
