ECU swap tips?

Hi! I might swap my ECU with a ECU without an immobiliser. Is there something I should think about when it comes to looking for a new one? Only matching numbers? Key registration? I've read that another ECU might have full memory and won't accept my key, is this true?

Why not unlock your existing ECU? Plenty of info on web explaining difference between soft n hard unlocking of ECU. Latter costs about £60 in the UK. Soft unlock is free, assuming it can be done on a 1.6. Plenty of info on various forums explaining the difference between the two, like .....
