Looks like i gotta do a heater matrix on a 1.9 Dturbo

Good luck, I went through 3 from mills before I ended up with the right one!

Its easy, just AC or non-AC.
Behr is AC models Valeo is non-AC models

check ebay - nissens are v good, actually branded valeo in the box and inc the pipes

one from ECP has been ordered, £18.30 in the current sale so cant grumble at that

I'm been braving the cold with no heaters at all. But for the sake of 20quid I'll be warm and perhaps sell it on when (or if) I break the car next year.

heater matrix's seem to be the achilles heel of these dturbos!

not really, but blowing hg's and neglected coolant soon kills one off
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.
