Really pisses me off that 205/45/16 parada spec 2's are over double the price of 195/50/15.
Very tempted to go back to 15's. Just look a tad too small

I wish I could get tyres for under £100 a corner

Try 235/40/18 in a decent quality

Luckily at the mo I have a good supply of them as part worns coming off at the jag dealership at work !!

They warn the owner when they get to 4.5mm
And most change at that point!!

Its cos 205/45R16 is a standard Subaru size so your paying Subaru tax effectively

195/45R16 is what came on the Fiesta Zetec S so is alot cheaper

Unfortunately I don't think you can get the Parada's in those sizes. I'll try and find other tyres which might be similar but cant think of any off the top of my head in that price bracket.

Wait until you have to buy 205/50/R17XL for my car
£110 a corner for anything that isn't going to throw you off the road into a ditch - painful amounts of money, last set of Continentals lasted me 16k which I didn't think was bad, seen as no matter what car it is, I'm going to drive it like an arsehole.

That's not too different to be honest, I've paid over 100 a corner (195/45/16 and 205/45/16) the last couple of times I've bought tyres.

a mere handful of days then
I'd not touch paradas tbh, way too soft sidewalls and really crap on slippery roads, I go michelin whenever I can, or continental, or something like falken if I can't stretch.

Key phrase then was "in the dry" how often do we get that in this country? No point buying your rubber based on the 3 dry weeks we have a year, unless thats the only time your car comes out to play. Much rather have something brand name with a B rated wet grip.

		Only B wet grip? RS3s are A.
I cant fault the RS3s tbh, I do use the correct profile which costs a bit more, but their wet grip is epic, and haven't had any problems in the dry either. Sidewalls are still a bit soft, but nowhere near as bad as the RS2s imo.

I had 195/45s on my Superleggera alloys and they were fine, just buy a tyre with a 'rim protector' on it, no more or less exposed than they would be on a 205/45.

They were the epic Goodyear Eagle F1s back in the day though, set me back about £65 a piece and that was 5 years ago...

24k miles is insane for a set!?!

Even my dad thought 16k wasn't bad for a set of fronts on it, he reckoned on about 18k usually. Those Contis were especially sticky in the summer in honesty, and I really drove like an arsehole, just ask Vaughan about the cross country trips to Leafield!

RS3s are extremely good for what they are, which is inexpensive.
Uniroyal are also owned by continental for those who like the continental brand.
