Thanks for the reply ... yes I'm pretty sure the buffer rubbers are touching the chassis inside the little recess that they sit in. I'll perhaps get a new top mount then and see if that cures the prob... |

Just wondering how much play there is supposed to be between the gear linkage rod bush, and the pivot arm ball which goes inside it?
There seems to be a couple of mm of play on my car and not sure ... |

I thought the mounting point was completely different for the front seats? On the 3 door car the outer edge of the seat subframe bolts sideways in to the sill, whereas on the 5 door they go down throu... |

Yes I agree that replacing the mounts is a good plan, I think I used Lemforder ones from euro car parts, they're of the order of £100, its worth ordering them online as there is usually a discount cod... |

That makes sense that it only does it when warm. Sounds like a good idea to try the iridium plugs again. |

Ah, what spark plugs did you use? If you used ones with too hot a grade this can lead to pinking.

Try putting the old plugs back in maybe and see if it goes away? |

B6 and B8 are the same for the 306 actually, you're right that usually B8's are the same damping as B6 but shorter in length for lower cars, but not so on the 306. I have the same suspension setup as ... |

Ok, thanks for the advice I saw that maniflow do them for around £400, just thinking of options for the future. Good news that it'll fit though. |

I guess you could argue that even if you buy a 2nd hand axle, you might want to replace the mounts anyway, so possibly worth trying new mounts on your current axle, then if this doesn't work, get a 2n... |
