Another phone thread (LG Nexus 4 E960)
#1
Hi guys,

I've just got to the end of my phone contract and I was thinking of going for an S3.

I called Three up the other day and it took half hour to get my PAC as I'd like to keep my number and transfer it to another network. As I was trying to get my PAC the guy on the phone was offering lots of deals none of which came up to much.

The next day someone else from Three called up offering a pants phone, loads of free minutes, texts and data usage for £9. I was tempted but I was looking forward to getting a good phone with all the bells and whistles. Then they offered me the Nexus 4 and told me the specs and that convinced me to go for that over the S3.

Has anyone on here had any experience with this phone?

I've got two golden rules that I have on phones and the Nexus breaks them both. The two things I always look for are a user changeable battery and a memory card slot. I always have a spare battery in the car or in my going away bag and I always find having a memory card handy.

To get over my rules I'll get one of those emergence charger pack things and I've seen you can use an adaptor to connect a USB stick to the micro USB port, very hand that I thought.

The back looks a bit girly with the sparkly bits but a part from that it doesn't look to bad.

The funny bit is it's more powerful then the laptop I use.

Jesus, that processor and RAM spec is worryingly good compared to your entry level laptops these days!

I have no idea what to go for at the end of my contract with 3. Started off at £20 a month and has been rising seemingly every month, and my minutes and texts are shite.

Credit rating is poor though and they were the only people that accepted me with an iPhone, an 8Gb 3GS. I'll probably get offered a Nokia 3210 as my renewal upgrade...

It's a really good bit of kit, and they sold so quickly with good reason. I'd quite happily have one over my HTC One X, which I know a lot of people on here have and love.

The lack of storage isn't too much of a problem unless you plan on taking a LOT of photos and video. And you can always just use dropbox and sync it to a PC, then delete older photos to make space.

I'd definitely reccomend the 16gb version. (Its actually 13.3gb) which is enough for photos and music
As scott says they're a really good phone and they're super cheap to but as well

If you get a good data plan you don't need to worry about filling your phone's internal storage with music, you can just stream it on Spotify or Google Music (Google music being my favourite of the two).

Also instead of tying yourself into a new contract, if you can afford it, buy the phone separately from Google, then get yourself a giff gaff sim.

I really can't wait to get the phone now. I've not been this excited about anything in ages. Downside is I'm getting it delivered to work so I'll have to go work no matter how much it snows I'll have to go.
