can you go to far with the wastegate?

how far can you go with screwing in the wastegate but still keep it fairly reliable?

i have it turned mine about 3/4 of the way from the standard setting, id say its got about 5 turns left on the tread.

my fuel is a quater turn from the maximum

it dosnt smoke really unless im out of boost and floor it,

if i turn the screw the last quater turn to the max on my lucas it does smoke quite abit so does this sound like its running about right?

im just parnoid about blowing my turbo lol, i need a boost gauge really

Get a boost gauge, learn about it before you start pushing it. You could have a delicate turbo which could shit itself tomorrow, or a strong one thats tired. Wastegate does not = more boost unless you introduce more fuel.

If my waste gate is overadjusted because it hasn't got the fuel to match what are the negative effects of this?

For example if it was a standard pump and I just turned the wastegate to the max what effect would this have? Think that makes it abit clearer (I haven't done this by the way I'm just trying to understand the principals)

You can adjust your wastegate so it never opens and without additional fuel, would not cause any issues - this us purely on stock xud engines and this principle does not always apply with other engines running different setups/turbos.
