P3 HDI - Project 'De-chav'
#1
Hi All. I thought id start a wee project thread for the Pug to show you the transformation she has undergone in the 8 months I’ve had her!

It was a fantastic low mileage example (79k) which unfortunately came with a few unwanted ‘extras’

First thing to do was to get rid of the shopping list plastered all over the car:

Our lass helped me a lot bless her...she came prepared with her hair drier!!

The pug came with a ‘false floor’ in the boot –the guy i bought it from said the previous owner was apparently in a band and used it to stash music equipment (god knows what, the space was small!).

Anyway, it looked a bit unsightly and took up space unnecessarily in the boot....so out it came:

Complete pain in the rear to remove! I think the guy used No More Nails or something to ‘weld’ the wood in place! Again, our lass was on hand to assist. I now need a new carpet for the boot!

I refurbished the alloy wheels to a (Jaguar) gunmetal colour, I personally think the colour suites the car a lot better than white Smile

I finally got the bonnet vent removed around 3 months ago:

The morrettes were also removed shortly after - I sourced some Valeos from the local scrapyard:

I then sprayed the headlight trims i got from the local scrapyard after work during the week:

I guess thats a complement - thanks lol Ive always like cyclones...that said at some point I'd like to switch to 17" Challengers.

I managed to source a brand new GTi6 splitter from a guy on ebay:

On my previous 306, I had a Laguna splitter, but i think the subtle GTI6 splitter suits it better.

got a bargain (and a fluke) at the local scrappy today:

in very good condition, no curbing at all, just the odd scratch.

test fitted them straight away. sadly the profile of the tyres is too high (205\50\16), so im going to take the tyres off next weekend, refurb the wheels, and then fit some brand new tyres.

er, nope Blush havent waxed it once in the 8 months of ownership lol!

latest news is that i have finally managed to find a decent set of 3 door leathers that arent hundreds of miles away. going to collect them this weekend hopefully!

I also have my Challengers waiting for paint. they're primed and waiting to go:
