Coilover topmount fitting problems
#1
Removed the 206 topmounts from my coilovers today to fit the 306 topmounts.

Few problems, mainly is that the 206 topmount fits snuggly to the ring on the top of the coilovers but the 306 one has a much laarger area so the ring and spring move around on the topmount.

There is a metal top screws into the top of the 206 mount but the heads of the screws look to have been drilled(if there are infact screws and are ment to come out??)

Does this need to be removed to fit the bottom part of the 206 mount to the 306 one?

That's only half the 306 top mount? There should be the same as the 206 one, the other half is the bearing part and from looking at that should be about the same size... Unless I'm missing something. Then there should also be a removable washer for the 306 one which sits in there for when you bolt the shock in. Looks like it's just built in to the 206 one

I have the 306 bearing also but it is still the wrong size for the coilover top ring. I have also try'd removing the one from the 306 topmount but it wont budge. Might just be tight so will give it a go with a chisel later tho

you need to turn the bearing upside down and fit it this way; had the same issue with my coilovers.
Id suggest buying new top mounts to save hassle with old top mounts Smile

Good luck! ginge191

Cheers sorved it i did'nt realise the bearing banged out of the top cup so checked it all fits snug. Going to get some new bearings as there destroyed anyway but is it worth getting new top mounts also? They seem ok bar abit of rust?

Cheers

...yeh id recommend getting whole new top mounts and bearings; pretty sure when i bought mine they were about £70 for 2 including the bearings. They have a slightly different design to the originals (such as the lack of no more cup spacer on top) but I used it anyway.....
