Bit of a weekend update. I went down work Saturday morning and got the rear axle changed over and fitted with braided lines. Also got a blue calliper back on the near side front at least. So now with the brake lines the brake pedal feels pretty awesome.

Finally got round to fitting my club stickers as well

Just need to check the avac system out cause it is feeling flat till it gets up to 4k rpm. Hopefully find the fault and get it sorted by Saturday for the rolling road

this car is really anoying me at the moment. i seem to fix 1 think and something else just goes wrong! Sad

i went to have a look at seeing about the avac sysytem and went to take a pipe off and just snaped the nipple off 1 of the diaprham things so need to see if i can get 1 off my spare engine tomorrow night.

also i fort that i had sorted out the stop light by bleeding the cooling sysytem and get 2 new bleed screw which made the stop light go out but yesterday the light decided to ramdomly come back on so im now near the point in taking the bulb out which i dont really want to do as i like to fix things properly

One thing to check bud there is a electro valve by the battery, it's a cylindrical thing with what looks like a pipe missing off the top! Off the top of my head its under the 4 way valve to the right of the engine, there is 2 pipes connected! Try swapping the pipes round, if you find it's alive before 4k but dead after then that's the problem, took me fookin ages to figure that one out, about £20 from pug

i really dont understand this stop with. driving to work this morning i get in my car start her up and the stop light is on. i drive about 5 miles and it just goes out and then about after mile it comes back on.

any ideas? i cant work out why it seemed like i had fixed it when i rebled the cooling system and then it randomly comes back on and goes out for a bit every now and then

Does a phase 1 have a separate coolant level warning light? Or is that definitely why the STOP light is coming on?

If it was then I would suggest a coolant level sensor connection problem, but I'm all out of ideas otherwise as I've never had a phase 1...
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

Which is the coolant level light? The stop light is on as well as the little red light by the temp gauge

Red light by the temp gauge is overheating light, I believe the stop comes on at the same time! Sure you got a decent temp sensor? Do your fans cut in at the correct temp? Could go as far as as having to much resistance in the harness

Is the temp sense the blue 1 on the back of the thermostat housing?

The fans all work fine when it gets to about 100 on the gauge and it sits at 80 on normal driving

What do you mean by to much resistance in the harness?

The wiring gets old and crappy and when it does the resistance on the wire with regards to how easy it is to push electric signals through it increases, so if you are only pushing a small amount through in the first place, a small increase in resistance can make a big difference

Lay men's terms lol

Ah right do you think it would be worth trying a new temp sensor? The blue 1. I've already replaced the brown 1

Yeh try it bud! They are only cheap, process of elimination unless your handy with a meter, and know the circuit

but if you do change any wires, make sure its with the same gauge and resistance as the original. seen too many problems caused by people using the wrong wire

I think I will try replacing the blue temp sensor before I get to involved in the wiring. On the spare engine I got its got the full wiring so could swap that over

Sorted a few bits out on this over that last few days. Firstly I've sorted out the flat spot which I did by fixing a nipple on a diaphragm and it now seems ok.

Also have given the idle control valve a clean out as it had been playing up on idle and I will see how it behaves now as it doesn't always play up.

And as for the stop light it is now bulb less. For the time being till I get the motivation to have another go at trying to sort it out.

A few pic of the car at the moment

Need to give it a wash tomorrow ready for the RR meet on Saturday. Really interested in what it is going make. I duno what to expect really. All standard apart from de cat and stainless exhaust system. What do you guys think it will make on the rollers?

Yeah defo needs 1. I would be happy with 150 as it is pretty old and done over 120000 miles.

Went to the rolling road meet today and got it on the rollers and come home with a smile on my face after it made 159.6bhp.

[Image: 953DDF68-6E97-496F-9400-EEABF397868B-162...8614b4.jpg]

Really happy with that as I was only expecting about 150bhp and the only things its had done to it is de cat and stainless cat back system.

A few pics I got
