I have googled the serial number on my TD04, and it says:
TD04L - 04HL - 13T Is this the right one to use, I thought the one to use ended in 13g?

You want the TD04 L 13t well that's the one people use

The HL from what I hear isn't the best

13t is the 'right' one, or at least the one that 90% of others use.

Pass I dunno what the difference is in the end result

The HL and The L are different. Whether it will work well I dunno

HL will take the power band further up the rev range, ie more lag and more top end airflow too. It should still be fine though tbh

Had a quick look, it's from a EJ205 block which is apparantly the 227hp engine or something?

Interesting.. I want boost by 3k, so it has a decent powerband.

13t is the one you want which is thr best compromise,

dont run more than 23 psi from it to get the best from it

So mine is good then yeah? I'm planning around 20psi anyway, so no worries about that.

Think I read on here that the HL is the biggest of the H, L, HL range? If so more laggy Smile

It's looks small to me, not much bigger than a k14.

I didnt think 20psi was enough personally but mine is a 15g so not sure of difference as yet, im running 24 peak atm but going to play with the lda and see if can fine tune for better rev range seems ok atm though and these sound awesome when on boost

depends on how much power you want....

ethier of your turbos is ok at 180hp@4600 rpms
http://www.squirrelpf.com/turbocalc/inde...ap_sel1=83

using 26 psi of boost actually....

i said 23 before but thats on a 13g.... 26 on either of your turbos... get a nice intercooler in there and youre good to go....

How much boost are you running dave and what turbo you on these days?? I think i could go slightly more tbh but would rather wait til have fordged internals Smile may try 30psi at a puch :p

30psi get on, after a long and heated discussion/argument/swinging fight with ruan in the pub we came to the conclusion dont run too much static advance as its not needed unless you have a real laggy bastard of a turbo spooling at 5k with stock VE/injectors. Im running quite a flow happy turbo that spools at about 2000 rpm lol, probably going to leave it at 30psi for a while until I can get my hands on some better engine parts.

Well mine seems to hit full boost around the 3k mark, im not too sure about the static advance as yet tbh but the pump is stocl other than gov mod and lda pin so dont think static advance has changed

Theres no smoke on boost so guessin if i just turn the fuel pump it will increase the boost pressure as wastegate welded shut need to up idle too as its rather embarrasing when it stalls at the lights due to really low idle lol

i run full static advance on mine... and its loud...lol....
whats turbo you.got then dave?

full static probably not doing your engine any good at all! thats only needed for 7k action when the pumps timing has slowed right down!

If your needing full static advance to make decent power from any turbo that makes its power before 6k, then your dynamic timing isnt working / not making full travel...have you changed the head / plunger in your pump? If so have you ran the pump up to pressure at full throttle and looked to see if its making any timing?

The biggest problem with opening up VE's, is pretty much anything you do to make more fuel, will make less timing, due to increased pressure required to overcome the injection rotation pressure...therefore you need to bump that up as well to overcome it....
