Starting to piss me off now
#1
Right since we did the engine on my car it keeps stalling.

When ever I drop the clutch no matter how fast or slow I'm going it cuts out. Thought it was the icv, replaced lasted half a day before it started doing it again, so don't know wether that sorted it or not. It's been a temperamental problem, not sure what causes it, seems to happen more when it's hot, or been ragging.

What can I change? What sensors might cause this?

New icv? EBay one or proper one? And did you reset the ECU at the same time?

It was the icv of the gti mani that I had on the xsi, was working when it came off. Even gave it a clean up. Exactly the same fault. Yeah ecu reset done as it wouldn't even start lol

I didn't plug things in, grant/Niall did.....

Although knowing there trolling antics wouldn't surprise me if they left something unplugged on purpose

Nah they'd have plugged it all in. Didn't you change the inlet mani though? Double check all the sensors are plugged in first, it might be playing up because of that.

Haven't changed my inlet mani over yet.

Also while Im thinking about it my powersteering is heavy too, could this be linked? Like aux belt bit loose? Not powering the pas pump? Causing stalling? I dunno clutching at straws I guess

I assume you've actually checked the fluid? Mine was proper heavy, forgot we'd only put 1L in just to prevent it from dying.

Checked level? Tvh unless you have a leak or a broken pump, which you would know because they sound horrendous, there's not much that can go wrong.

Two things. Firstly how do you know it's working? Even if it was brand new in sealed Peugeot packaging, would you assume it works fine? I certainly wouldn't.
Secondly, did you reset the ECU and are you sure you plugged it in properly? The rubber seal on the plug can become dislodged and mean it doesn't make a connection and barely clips in.

You also said you took it apart and cleaned it? How and what with? There very delicate (read crap) so wouldn't supprise me if you've made things worse!

It ran on the xsi for 6 months without a problem, did an ecu reset but might do it again. I opened it up, cleaned the soot off with brake cleaner, might take it off and get new o rings. Beginning to annoy me all this stalling!

I would of said ICV but as some one said above try uplugging the blue connector off the powersteering pipe just behind rad has been known to cause random mistorey faults!!!
