EMP Gauge
#1
From what I've looked at these aren't readily available off the shelf.
(Zada Tech do digital ones but there quite pricey, but I can add other sensors to it also e.g intake temp, fuel pressure etc if wanted.)

I've seen Ruan mention using copper pipe as a heat sink (and then presumably using a normal gauge of another type) but I'm unsure or exactly how to go about it.

I'll be plumbing it in the egr outlet on the manifold as its not directly in the exhaust flow so the temps will be cooler.

Any info/help will be greatly appreciated.

Yeh you're just measuring pressure in there, so you just want to diffuse heat before it gets to the gauge.

On Ruans we just had a length of copper pipe with 3/8" compression fitting on the manifold side, but hes never used it since we did it lol, the pipe just terminates in the wing with a kink in it lol, but the idea was to connect the gauge on the end of that so the heat is lost via the copper bit first as dave said...

Makes sense, so use like a coper brake pipe to dissipate the heat then connect it up to a pressure gauge.
What sort of pressure range will I be looking at, for both XUD and HDi?

Would a oil pressure gauge and sensor work providing the gauge displays from 0?

You'll want at least a 0-60 or even a 0-100psi gauge if you've a small turbo.

Cheers, looking at gt20 on a hdi.
Will be getting a isspro one imported along with a boost gauge too.
They do both 60 and 100 in the style I'm going for so will order up a 100.
