As said in my "Hello" thread, thought I would put up a bit of a project thread on here.
The full thread can be found over on the six forum here: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=131516
It will be a mission to post my whole project thread again, so please check out the link above, maybe if you have some time to kill etc :laugh

What I will do instead is post up before and after pics, and if anyone wants any info/pics of particular bits, let me know.

When I got it about 4 and a half year ago..

That's awesome, pretty much the plan for my rallye. Although instead of a charger I want bodies.
Stripped is the way to go, the rear of mine is a part time stripper. Sounds epic when booting it!

Hey, Is this taken with your 500d mate? Not a bad video at all.. however, I don't know if it's just my laptop, but it seems quite jittery/shakey?

Nice car btw bud! Great spec. It looks immaculate in the pre-mod pics.

Yup, fit fine. Fits to the standard fuel rail and still uses the standard fuel pressure regulator.

I bought them new, but came as part of a kit, so unsure on the price of those. £160 seems to ring a bell though. I will check it out for you if you need

Thanks
This is a very "home made" car mate, on a budget. Most things have been done by me or my mate. That was my mate, we hired an arch rolling kit as the 16s with R888's were catching. Arch rolling fail :lol

At least it no longer catches the arch

No worries mate, really easy. Note that mine was a half arsed job as I am looking to replace them. If you are to do it like mine, it will help to turn the wheel to full lock each way to make it easier to paint the back (I didnt really paint the back)

Pugmarshall, when you say unbolt them, you mean so the brake lines still attached? Or completely remove from car? If you just unbolt them, it would make it harder to keep in one place while they dry. Taking them off the car would be best, but more time consuming and pain to refit and bleed brakes up etc..

Must say, I do love this car, I've seen it a few times at shows etc, always looks absolutely ace. Nice to see a (relatively) OEM+ looking car with buckets etc. not turned into the typical "track car" which ends in the bodywork looking tatty..
Awesome work

		Thanks for the comments guys
Good to know it sounds good from the outside. Thinking it would be sounding a bit dull compared to most cars running up the hill at Pugfest. Trouble with having it as a track car, had to make the exhaust as quiet as possible.

Supercharged'uns do tend to be redunkulously loud, the high boosters end up so loud to try and get the gasses out fast enough!
Out of interest, do you run a lightened/billet fly?

They can be silly loud, and its amazing how much difference the noise changes when you change how open the throttle is
I dont run a lightweight flywheel, but it is something I want. Had one on my last gti6, and loved the difference it made. Had to sell it in a time of needing money though

Not much going on with this at the minute..
Painted the rear calipers and gave the disc protectors a tidy up. (No pictures as Photobucket doesnt work at work, and no internet at home for the time being)

Still waiting on my alloy battery box so I can fit my new lightweight battery and locate it behind passenger seat.

Rear beam is still very broken, hoping to sort something with this soon..

Want to book loads of trackdays, but in the process of trying to get a house...

Haha, good stuff mate
I used the Hammerite smooth stuff, as it said "straight to rust" so me being lazy thought I would need to do less prep work
Didnt lacquer them either but Im half expecting for them to fade/look shit at some point in the near future

Nah the hammerite will be fine, only sados like Ed get Bummed for "caliper paint"

Ive had hammerite on brakes and had them hot enough to boil the fluid and the hammerite was still fine.
