might as well replace the crank seal as well whilst you have it apart, sump has to come off obviously so you can remove the main cap.

How funny, the crank seal I put in mine a few ago just started pissing out, took he box of today and was greeted with something very similar.

I've done loads of crank seals and never had a problem. Any amazing tips?

yeah, and use decent seals, like Payen, also if you use a good seal like a payen seal they have a tool for fitting to ensure the lip is not damaged.

Agree with what welshpug has said here, i got a payen one which comes with the cup to help fit it. Makes it so much easier to fit and you can be more confident about not damaging the seal when fitting it as well.

Oil comes out because the holes go right through.

When replacing the line seal make sure they don't stretch, I used some tin between the cap and block when sliding the cap in to position. You might be able to cut up a coke can and use that.

Make sure there is no more then a 2-3mm sticking out any more the seal has stretched too much.

Photo's were taken when I did the '6. Going to be doing this on my Dturbo soon, I've got the line seals just waiting on the large oil seal.

Where do you guys get the Payen oil seals from?

why would oil not come out of the sump if a hole is not blocked by a bolt?

the hockey stick seals should be trimmed down to 1mm after leaving them a shirt while to shrink back, they come longer than required.
