Evning all so did a tune up today Max fuel etch

What are the warning sighns of not enough fuel on boost/too much fuel.

By removing the Max revs bolt does this gain anything?

Decat worth doing.
Open air filter or stock airbox
Any help or other tips

Decat is definitely worth doing IMO, maybe just have the insides out of your current one, looks good come MOT time. Wink
Stock airbox is more than adequate on these, open air filter is just inviting heatsoak, though you'll get a few people say run defiltered. Your call if you do or not (I did, sounded awesome! lol ).
When I had my XUD on a Lucas pump, I did tweak the max revs bolt a little, but not too much.
As for fuelling, not enough would burn clean, and not be very pokey, and too much would be massively coaly, and probably not very pokey! lol
Did you tweak the turbo when you did this tune?

Hi yea did the turbo at the same time
Followed darrens vid.
It's my first diesel played with petrol turbo cars
Seems to pull clean up to about 4.5k
Then it's like it backs off a bit ???

Yeah, 4.5k is about your limit really, if it's burning clean, you've got a bit of scope to up the fuel a bit more, I was running 22psi on my old Lucas and T2 after tweaking the pump and turbo, coaled a bit off boost, with a light haze on blow. Had room to turn it up further, but I was being cautious with it, as it was my daily, and only vehicle, so I needed to keep it reliable.

If you followed Darren's vid, you've already had a fairly decent introduction to diesel tuning, but there is loads of info for you to read through on here, as well as a wealth of knowledgeable members, so if you have any questions you can't find the answers to, don't hesitate to ask. Smile

In fact, I'm surprised no-one else has commented here yet! lol

Oh, and welcome along to the forum! Wink

Well turned the Max fuel say 20 to 30 degrees
Waistgate was 1 and half turns and boost compensator as per the vid
Has deffo made an improvment
There no smoke on boost only a very small amount on first cold start of the day
Don't wanna go mad with fueling as don't want to blow the motor.. or the turbo
Can deffo hear the turbo spool up now more than before.
Gunna remove max revs screw see what that will do and the cat

That was my thinking when tuning mine, but it sounds like you've definitely got room to increase the fuel a bit more.

If you're dead set on tuning it up nicely, it will pay you to look into converting the fuel pump to a Bosch, as it's far easier to tune, and you don't have to empty and drain the pump to adjust the max fuel. They're just better pumps at the end of the day, it's one thing I never got round to doing on mine.

Just rigged up a chepo tyre pressure guage till proper boost guage artives
It's reading 20 lb/in2 wich I think is 20 psi
Should I add more fuel and is 20 psi safe on stock kkk
