Welding Cages
#1
Does anyone on here weld cages professionally? I'm looking for a bit of advice with adding a harness bar to my OMP bolt in. What wall thickness tube do I need to use and do I need to use cold drawn tubing? Should I TIG weld it in? I'm looking to get it fitted on Sunday or at least make a good start with the door bars etc..

Minimum MSA spec is 38mm x 2.5mm or 40 x 2.0mm (you can go larger, not smaller), in cold drawn seamless or better.

MIG or TIG is fine, how well it's welded is more important than the process.

Ripp does it matter if you use tube or pipe for this? IE, is that a MINIMUM pipe ID of 38mm, or is that OD?

That's tube dimensions, so O/D, main issue with pipe is getting something with a high enough minimum yield strength (>350n/mm^2), blue band steam pipe, etc, isn't strong enough unless you're running in series with specific cage exceptions allowing it.
