What clutch & where to buy?
#1
Hey guys,

Planning on a HDI gearbox swap on my D Turbo soon and kinda need a new clutch at the same time. What clutch would you guys recommend? And also, where to buy from?

My car is bone stock at the moment, although I am planning on a Bosch pump at some point along with some tweaks, so perhaps going for a slightly uprated clutch would be a good move?

Any advice welcome! Thanks Smile

Valeo will be fine. Unless your planning on a big turbo.

LUK or Valeo will be sufficient.

ECP, CP4L and hunt around, maybe a code for them.

Or local motor factors if you get good price on them

Thanks guys, had a look around, I can get Valeo for £108 and LUK for £112

However, just stumbled across this. DriveTorque stage 1 (apparently good for approx 25% increase in torque from standard)

Any good? Or just stick with OE Valeo?

No I've heard bad things. Imo. And experience if you want to go uprated go helix or just go standard

Just stick with the O.E valeo 826201 clutch kit which i got off amazon for £50.72 but they obviously fcuked up with the price & pretty sure you can get a similar price if you phone round a few motor factors as i got a quote of £85 from my loacal before i found the mispriced one on amazon.

A standard valeo will be fine, that will certainly hold any torque a standard turbo can chuck at it. I do have a few old stock motoquip clutch kits i bought back along which are valeo if you would be interested?

Just put a standard clutch in man, I've seen these make 160+BHP and not slip a stock clutch.
