front caliper
#1
Hi all, has anyone else suffered with sticking front pads/calipers. It suddenly seized up at traffic lights. it has now freed up a little, but is dragging still, takes a lot more power to move though. Have been told it`s either a blocked up hose feed or fecked caliper.   Its booked into have work done on Tuesday am.  Car is hdi with 180000mls, worn out parts?   Any thoughts Huh

Rebuild it, it isn't tricky. Tbh throw them away and fit a 6 setup which you can rebuild first if necessary.

Think mine lasted the same mileage before the piston seals were shot.

Yeah will be a stuck piston. Get them rebuilt or use it as an excuse to upgrade!

Try squeezing back the caliper with the bleed nipple open (obviously watch out for spraying fluid). If it goes back easily it'll either be a blocked brake line or stuck sliders, you can check the sliders easily enough to narrow your scope. If the piston doesn't want to squeeze back then rebuild the caliper. Hth.
