Gti6 inlet manifold
#1
So I've got a 1.8 xs and have been told a gti6 inlet manifold would be good on my car.
But how easy/hard is it to fit? What do I need to do to make it work? Should I get someone who knows what they're doing to do it for me?

Installation please see this link :
http://306oc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=161

And also, You and everyone can do it just need only some tools and other related part (New air filter, Clamp, etc)

About the result, After I installed to my 406 D8 with a pair of GTI6 Camshafts and Custom made exhaust system

Engine respond was better at the mid to High revs and the Top speed increasing about 10 km/h (Depend on Cam timing adjusted)

Only the intake manifold installation, From my experience I didn't see the difference
Only the suction noise is lounder ! (Maybe the low rev response were worse than stock !)

But the result with 1.8 maybe difference from my experience, and also my country weather not so
Good (AVG Ambient Temp around 30 Degree celsius and Avg humidity around 70 ! )

Ive done this to my 1.8... its alright and sounds great. I had a resonator bung to delete the res box. Basically you need a small cone filter, gasket and the full manifold, throttlebody and all the sensors etc.

Where does the resonator bung go?

On the underside of the manifold where the black box usually is.

Will the inlet manifold run ok with the gti injectors still on it????

Also I'm guessing this really isn't a good sign? :/

you need to fit the 1.8 injectors unless you map it.

That goo is fine. Mine had that. I'm fairly sure we have answered that question about gti6 injectors for you in a different thread....

If the ECU gives 50% injector flow... And the flow of 1.8 injectors is 1000 and gti6 is 2000 then 50% is 500and 100p so you are always injecting more and the ECU can't tell how much its putting in... Pretty much.

Thanks a lot Smile
Will having the fro injectors on cause any damage to anything? I'm going to wait until the weekend to change them over if not

the ecu will know something is not right with the lambda readings, but that'll just confuse the hell out of it as there's only a limited percentage it'll trim it back.
