Cigarette lighter port seems to small?

Okay the lighter fits and works!
however my several usb converters, satnav charger will not work, its almost like there to big to fit in the port? these all worked in my old 306 but not on my 1997 zx, is there a standard size for these or does my zx have a weird smaller port?
