Recently bought a Peugeot 206 Gti 180, and noticed the back box is in bad shape. It's pretty rusty and unsightly and looks pathetic. Also, it's far too quiet and gives off a wheezy sound.
Looking about it would seem all aftermarket replacements are very expensive new, and very scarce as second hand. As I'd rather not spend a fortune on a box for what was a pretty cheap car, I was wondering if there is a way around this. My thoughts were possibly swapping the exhaust from the cat back, for one from a Gti 140, as these are much more readily available. Would it even be possible to bodge on a box from a completely different model? The distance isn't far. I have no idea what's compatible, and my usual advice circles are pretty slow to respond on the matter.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
