206 Gti 180 Exhaust
#1
Recently bought a Peugeot 206 Gti 180, and noticed the back box is in bad shape. It's pretty rusty and unsightly and looks pathetic. Also, it's far too quiet and gives off a wheezy sound.

Looking about it would seem all aftermarket replacements are very expensive new, and very scarce as second hand. As I'd rather not spend a fortune on a box for what was a pretty cheap car, I was wondering if there is a way around this. My thoughts were possibly swapping the exhaust from the cat back, for one from a Gti 140, as these are much more readily available. Would it even be possible to bodge on a box from a completely different model? The distance isn't far. I have no idea what's compatible, and my usual advice circles are pretty slow to respond on the matter.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

well.... you can make anything fit.... i dont know if the 140 and 180 exhausts are different but they cant be too different so could probably be bodged.

I'm always up for a good bodge!

As this is a duplicate of a post on a few other forums, I've been informed a 140 cat back won't fit due to different suspension set up.

I might just put on a bit of straight pipe with a crome tip from the centre section.

What are your thoughts on the 180? I love mine.

I think it's great. Not as good as a Gti6, clio 172/182, 106 gti or 205 gti perhaps, but still a good hot hatch.

Got a really decent exhaust manufacturer near me, infinity. Pretty sure their quote will be in the region of £200 - 300. I'd rather not spend that much, but if I have to I have to I guess. I might even get a Scorpion or Janspeed.
