Clutch cable set up.
#1
Just fitted a new clutch cable to my car about 2 weeks ago. I've tried the usual mashing the pedal into the carpet and sliding my foot off, but haven't heard a "click". Also the clutch still slips slightly so i have a feeling the cable may still be out of adjustment.

I have two questions to ask:

1. My clutch pedal feel changes when i drive the car. As in, the free play at the top of the pedal and the positive feeling is there, other times it's not and the bite can be higher or lower on the pedal, can this be down to the cable adjustment or is it just a shagged new cable?

2. How do i check for the correct freeplay in the lever arm on the gearbox, should i be able to move it any way freely/ with slight free play or anything at all? Just so i can eliminate a few things.

Thanks.

Went out in it tonight, whacked the pedal about 20 times, didn't hear any click, but the pedal felt different. Gave a few coming-onto-boost foot fulls, and it held. No slip. Left the car at home for an hour, went out in it again and it started slipping until i whacked the pedal. Now it's doing what yours did at Expo and the pedal return spring is now causing it to stick lelzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Which spring? The spring on the clutch pedal itself? What does removing it do?

Stops issues just like this for starters - takes 30 seconds to remove.

Whipped it out mate

ay ayyyy ayyyyyy

And the pedal feels the same, but i can't recall the auto adjuster clicking. I'll give it a caning later on see if it holds. There's about 10mm of free play on the pedal now (movement before you can feel it engaging)
