Changing Rods
#1
What do I need when changing rods? New shells and bigend bolts? And where is best place to get them from? Looking to change the 16v rods into a new engine so making sure I know what to look for in advance

Thanks

Also had a VR headgasket fitted not long ago would it be ok to reuse this when heads removed

When I fitted hdi rods to my old engine, I just used same shells and bolts, just make sure there in good condition, my old bottom end is still going in fine to.

can get away with just using a new HG.

Reuse bolts, rod studs, rings, shells, oil, etc etc.

In a no expense spared build these should all be replaced though.

Well if you really didn't want to replace the headgasket you could take the crank out
