New retro weekend car for the Mrs (non Pug)
#1
The Mrs has been after one of these for a while, so last weekend i picked this up. It is a E reg 88 spec XR3i, has been lowered 40mm and is on Mondeo 16" inch alloys. It came with the original suspension and wheels.
The last owner had owned it since 2006 and in that time it was garaged and covered the grand total of 1000 miles. Has 12 months mot and we have covered 400 miles in it in the last week and has not missed a beat.
It has a few little niggles as to be expected with any 26 year old ford, but nothing major.
You don't see many of them about anymore.

Not really a ford man to be honest with you. (although i own a mk3 fiesta that looks like it just left the showroom courtesy of my nan) this looks really clean though and its always better to keep an old car going. hope she enjoys it
On a break from 306oc for personal reasons. If anyone needs or wants me most of you have my number and or facebook messenger

Yeah will get the original wheels done and back on when i can afford it, just paid for the car and the insurance in a oner this month so can't spend to much on her yet, just sorting all the little niggles that are free or cheap until next month.
I always like the RS turbos aswell but they are stupid money now for a decent one.

Win Vehicle!

Though for chronic win, would have to be a Mk1 or Mk2 Big Grin

I agree with that but then it would of been 10 x the price

I went to a 306 meet and someone rocked up in a red RST - guess what got all the attention! Even had the obligatory dump valve haha

Looks tidy, just keep on top of the rust prevention Smile
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

I brought my rover metro to the north east 306 meet, a few years ago, and I got all the attention, that meet was called 3 Smokey dervs and a metro.

cheers for all the replies.

Its pretty tidy, i took it down to my local tyre place this morning to get the tracking done and the front wheels balanced as at motorway speed there was ever such a little wobble. That sorted it.
But everyone came over to have a look and it is really tidy underneath, i had a quick look when i bought it, but had a good look today, it's got 1 patch on the osr chassis leg.
Its amazing how people just want to have a look round it and ask loads of questions about it.

Going to give it a good mop over tomorrow as long as the weather is ok, as a few little bits are just starting to turn pink !

Very nice! I really wanted a black one of these as a first car but insurers had other ideas!
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

Had the original wheels refurbished and managed to get brand new centre caps, the car goes in for paint in a few weeks and these will get fitted when she is done.
