I didn't realise there were different sized ball joints! Glad I read this as need new bottom arms soon. Anyone know what size would be on a phase one SLDT saloon or is it a case of measuring?
If these fit and you can post then I'll take them.
They are 18 mm ball joints
Hdi and gti had 18 mm not sure about the rest. These were for my 2001 hdi until I decided to polybush the old ones

Phase 1 tend to be 16mm, phase 3 tend to be 18mm, obviously its best to measure and check though.

Phase 2 gti6 are 16mm.
Always check before buying new ones, double check the new ones before leaving to. Motorfactors I went to was full on dip shits took 4 attempts to get right ones.
